New Momma Survival : Hair Makeup and More

I am a firm believer that if you look good you feel great ! And since my pregnancy did not get the beautiful "glow" or great hair, I felt that I was lacking the "looking good". I gained over 60 pounds, yes thats right, 60! during pregnancy and I felt like a whale. My double chin, kankles and acne made me feel less than glamorous. And I truly thought that I would look myself again just a few weeks after baby. umm, no. Not quite. Truth is, I've had to do some work to make myself look good and feel good lately. So here is a list of my must-haves that have helped me feel like me again. : D

my favorite hair products:
garnier fructis sleek and shine moroccan sleek. It has turned my fried damaged hair ( I recently went blonde) to silky shiny locks !
Any morrocan oil really does work but this one is much cheaper than others and you can buy it right at Target.($4.69)

You only need a tiny dab (I usually concentrate on my ends)

This is for dry damaged hair and has olive, avacado and shea. I spray this on my hair after I take a shower. (always shake the bottle first ! ) ($4.74)

I am in love with this lightweight formula. It makes my skin look very "glowy" and natural and smells great too ! added bonus: it has SPF 15 and it's a moisturizer so when you don't have time to do your makeup, throw this on in a minute and call it a day !! Good skin will instantly make you more confident!

Nail products :
Being a new mom you don't always have time to do your nails, let alone take a shower or eat a full meal. So right before bed I use Orly Argan Cuticle Oil (Sally's) and it works wonders. Massage it onto your cuticles (you can have polish on) to nourish and condition. Great for the dry Colorado air! Good cuticles and trying to keep them shaped with a simple emery board makes all the difference!

And last but not least , FRAGRANCE. To a new mother, fragrance might be the last thing on your mind, but for me , smelling good is as important as looking good. The first few weeks of motherhood, you are supposed to stay in your pj's and do nothing but enjoy your baby ( Even if that means skipping a few showers ! ) But after awhile, I wanted to still look and smell good even if I never left the house. Don't get me wrong, I am still living in yoga pants but I am at least matching now and doing my hair and makeup! ;)
